GASH – PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk’s commitment to supporting the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is once again evident through the utilization of Wisma Majapahit in Mentok, West Bangka Regency.

Whenever events that attract large crowds are held, the Wisma Majapahit area—an asset of PT TIMAH—often becomes a productive space for MSME players to earn additional income. Vendors selling food, beverages, and handicrafts take advantage of the crowd to offer their products.

During the graduation ceremony of SMA Negeri 1 Mentok students held on Tuesday (May 5, 2026), dozens of MSME players were once again seen filling the area around the building to sell their goods.

One of them, Irya, a bouquet seller, said that events held at Wisma Majapahit have had a positive impact on her sales.

“The revenue we receive is quite good. Sales have been running well and smoothly,” she said.
As a seasonal vendor, Irya explained that PT TIMAH has provided information and arranged designated selling areas to ensure business activities remain orderly and comfortable.

“We were informed about where we could sell. We are not allowed to sell inside the building, so we look for permitted and safe locations,” she said.

She also expressed her gratitude for the convenience provided by the company.

“We would like to thank PT TIMAH for making it easier for MSME players like us to sell here. We have been provided space, and it’s free of charge,” she added.

A similar sentiment was shared by Sonia, a beverage vendor who frequently sells during events at Wisma Majapahit.

“Whenever there’s an event and we are given permission by PT TIMAH, I always sell here. The visitors are usually quite numerous, and the duration is long enough for trading. The profit is decent and helps support my family’s economy,” she said.

According to Sonia, vendors feel safe and comfortable while selling in the Wisma Majapahit area.

“Selling here feels safe and peaceful, facilities are available, and there are no fees charged by any party,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Vice Regent of West Bangka, H. Yus Derahman, stated that the Majapahit Building owned by PT TIMAH has become an economic magnet for the community, especially small traders.

“Whenever there is a crowd, vendors will gather. That’s the magnet of income. The Majapahit Building of PT TIMAH has become an attraction for traders to sell their goods. We hope activities like this will have a positive impact on the community’s economy,” said Yus Derahman after attending the 38th graduation ceremony of SMA Negeri 1 Mentok.

Beyond events like this, PT TIMAH also regularly involves MSMEs in various company activities, including culinary ventures and other products.
